Lynnea C. Cornish

Lynnea C. Cornish is a mother of fraternal twins and a school-age daughter with special needs. As a native of Maryland, she attended Baltimore County schools and has worked in Baltimore City schools for over 15 years. Her daughter entered Baltimore City Schools in 2015 and now Lynnea is experiencing City Schools from a parent point of view. Lynnea started her career with the Urban Teacher Education program at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She taught elementary grades, coached early learning educators and was principal for an elementary and middle school for five years. Lynnea made a personal choice to leave the principal role to support her family. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from Hampton University, her M.A. in Education from UMBC and her Educational Leadership Certificate from Towson University. When she is not working smarter for her family, she serves the educational community for her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
